In this Lecture, David will present his unique perspective on the future of masculinity. The background is that masculinity norms are changing and widening due to changes in our technology, as well as our work- and family life. Young people are entering the business life each year; we see an increasing change in personal values of the adult, working generation. Companies need to adjust their employment proposals to stay relevant and attractive to employees and incorporate values like transparency and equality.
Corporations are addressing men’s mental health at the workplace. Wallmart has already implemented a mental health strategy including screening and treatment to keep the numbers of sick leaves down and spend less money on medical bills. Men are increasingly raising their voices for equal rights in family courts around the globe, regarding visiting right, custody and alimony.
